Watch: CJ Hobgood goes over the falls in Tahiti

All surfers know the feeling, but I doubt to this extent. Round 1 of the Billabong Pro Tahiti delivered a wave or two that were reminiscent of the famous 2011 code red swell, and unfortunately for CJ Hobgood, he made the decision to attempt to go one, attempt to pull off, and then found himself being dragged over a 15 foot liquid mountain onto jagged rock and coral. Remarkably, CJ escaped with a gut tattoo and some hindsight, then went on to continue charging monsters for the rest of his round 1 heat. You cannot deny this mans unbelievable fortitude.
