Samsung have released their first promo clip linked to their sponsorship of the ASP World Tour with the slogan ‘every day is day one’. The clip aims to give an insight into the collective identity of what surfing is whether you’re on the tour, in the local line-up or still finding your feet and they’ve done this by capturing the intimate moments that fill the time between catching waves. By contrasting footage of surfers at all levels all around the globe with footage of Jimmy Slade, Steph Gilmore, Gabriel Medina and co. on the shore, during wipeouts and in between sets before finally nailing that all important wave, the clip resonates the message that no matter who you are, every day is day one when you’re out in the surf. Samsung really captures that humbling acknowledgment that surfing is one of those things that you can never quite master but you will damn well have a good time while you’re trying to. Kudos Samsung.
